There’s no easy way to say this, but as we’ve grown to know and love so many of you as friends and family in the last 20 years, we wanted to let you know that on Sunday night, Steve suffered a stroke. He was quickly taken to the hospital where he’ll remain until at least Friday, when he’ll be moved to an in-patient facility at another location. While we do not yet know the extent of the damage, our family is optimistic. As we’ve already been asked by a few people, at this point, we’d appreciate privacy until we get through these first few (very difficult) days. As such, we aren’t quite yet ready for visitors, but as this changes we’ll be sure to let everyone know. We appreciate the thought.
Many of you know Steve to be strong-willed, tough as nails, and constantly touting a “take no shit” attitude. It’s one of the things we love most about him, and I hope you’ll take our word for it when we say that we fully expect this same disposition to extend into his recovery. We appreciate the kind words, positive thoughts, prayers, and everything else we’ve been granted by the community. We feel very blessed, despite dealing with such an awful situation. Our family is truly grateful for every one of you.
